Santa Maria Novella Fiorenze: Zahnpaste

Wenn es um Zahnpaste geht, habe ich einen besonderen Tick. Ich kann es nicht genau beschreiben, aber ich liebe nichts mehr, als außergewöhnliche Zahnpasten zu testen, besonders solche, die es hier bei uns im schönen Österreich nicht wirklich gibt. In einem älteren Beitrag habe ich zum Beispiel schon MARVIS – die Kultzahnpasta aus Italien! vorgestellt.

Bei unserem Besuch im Kussmund, in der Habsburgergasse 14, 1010 Wien, nahm ich dann dieses besondere Exemplar einer Zahnpaste von Santa Maria Novella – eine der ältesten Marken der Welt – mit nach Hause.

I have to admit I have a thing about toothpaste. I can’t really describe it, I just love testing all sorts of extraordinary toothpastes, especially those that you cannot easily get here in Austria. Some time ago I already introduced you to MARVIS – die Kultzahnpasta aus Italien!.

When we visited Kussmund, at Habsburgergasse 14, 1010 Vienna, I bought this very special toothpaste by Santa Maria Novella – one of the oldest brands in the world.

Europas älteste und schönste Apotheke La Farmacia di Santa Maria Novella in Florenz wurde 1221 in unmittelbarer Nähe der gleichnamigen Basilica von Dominikanermönchen gegründet. Seit 1612 fabriziert der florentinische Klosterbetrieb seine erlesenen pharmazeutischen und kosmetischen Produkte.

Europe’s oldest and most beautiful pharmacy, La Farmacia di Santa Maria Novella in Florence, was founded by Dominican monks in 1221 not far from the basilica of the same name. Ever since 1612 the Florentine monastery has been producing its fine pharmaceutic and cosmetic products.

Das Jahrhunderte alte Unternehmen steht vor allem für seine betörenden Düfte, die in verschiedensten Aggregatzuständen und Varianten erhältlich sind.

This century-old company is known especially for its captivating scents, available in any shape and form.

Die sehr erfrischende Iris Zahnpaste beinhaltet Iris Pulver, Blutwurz, Propolis, Minze, Zimt, Nelken, Pfefferminzöl, weiße Tonerde und Natron. Außerdem hat sie starke Antiplaque Eigenschaften.

Fazit: Die etwas gewöhnungsbedürftige braune Zahnpaste, die beim Zähneputzen so gar nicht schäumt, schmeckt anfänglich etwas salzig. Das gibt sich jedoch innerhalb kurzer Zeit und dann schmeckt sie so richtig nach Pfefferminze. Durch die weiße Tonerde sind die Zähne nach dem Putzen so richtig glatt, dieses Gefühl hatte ich bei keiner anderen Zahnpaste zuvor. Der angenehme Geschmack nach frischer Pfefferminze hält mindesten ein halbe Stunde lang an.

The very refreshing iris toothpaste contains pulverized iris, bloodroot, propolis, mint, cinnamon, clove, peppermint oil, white clay and natron. It works very well against plaque.

My verdict, it takes some time getting used to the brown paste which does not make you foam and tastes a bit salty at first. It doesn’t take long though and soon the peppermint taste will kick in. The white clay will make your teeth nice and smooth, I haven’t experienced anything quite like it with any other toothpaste. The lovely taste of peppermint will last you for at least half an hour.
