Bereits letztes Jahr habe ich Euch auf einen kurzen Ausflug ins mystische Waldviertel mitgenommen. Und auch heuer war das Schrammel. Klang. Festival wieder fixer Bestandteil in meiner Planung.
Alljenen die sich an dieser Stelle die Frage „Diese Österreicher mit ihren komischen Wörtern – was ist denn das schon wieder?“ stellt, sei erklärt: Schrammelmusik entstand Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts in Wien und typisch dafür ist die spezielle Kontragitarre gemischt mit fröhlicher Melancholie. Fröhliche Melancholie? Ja meine Lieben, das ist typisch für Wien. Und warum findet das Festival dann in Litschau statt? Ganz einfach, denn hier ist sozusagen der Großvater dieser Musikrichtung geboren.
Last year I already took you on a journey to the mystical Waldviertel. One year later the so called Schrammel. Klang. Festival is happening again and of course we decided to be a part of it once more.
So by now you are probably wondering “Those Austrians with their crazy words – what´s this supposed to be?”. Well, let me explain, “Schrammel”-music came up in the late 19th century in Vienna. It’s characterized by a very peculiar instrument, the contraguitar, coupled with cheerful melancholia. Cheerful melancholia? Yes, my friends, that’s quintessentially Vienna. And why is this festival in Litschau? Well that’s because the grandfather of this type of music was born right here!
Das Waldviertel zählt für mich zu den schönsten Fleckchen in unserem Land und strahlt angenehme Ruhe aus. Doch diese Ruhe wird alljährlich am Herrensee in Litschau ein klein wenig durchbrochen.
Waldviertel is one of the most beautiful places here in Austria, especially because of its peacefulness. Only once a year this peace is interrupted by this festival in Litschau at Herrensee.
Eingeläutet wurde für uns das diesjährige Festival am Samstag von dem grandiosen (Nicht nur-) Schauspieler Karl Markovics und Wolf Bachofner mit amüsanten Wiener Liedern im Rahmen der Matinée.
For us it started off on Saturday morning with the amazing (not just-) actor Karl Markovics and Wolf Bachofner who sang amusing Wienerlieder (literally: Viennese song; a song genre rooted in Vienna).
Danach ging es in herrlichem Ambiente auf dem Schrammelpfad um den Herrensee zu 7 verschiedenen Bühnen.
After that we took the Schrammelpfad around Herrensee to the seven other stages.
Die urige Claudia Rohnefeld kennen einige vielleicht aus der Komödie „Das perfekte Desasterdinner“ mit Michael Niavarani. Hier spielt sie die verrückte, kleine Köchin. Eine sehr sympatische, witzige und stimmgewaltige kleine Lady! Sie ist ganz nebenbei bemerkt „der“ neue Conferencier im Kabarett Simpl.
Quaint Claudia Rohnefeld may be on her way to becoming a household name after playing a role in the comedy “Das perfekte Desasterdinner” with Michael Niavarani where she played the crazy little cook. She’s certainly a very likable, funny and strong-voiced little Lady! By the way, she’s also the new Conferencier at Kabarett Simpl in Vienna.
Die Schauspieler-Dichte war heuer recht hoch, denn auch Paul Skrepek war mit Helmut Bohatsch vertreten.
There were quite many actors present at this year’s festival, we also saw Paul Skrepek and Helmut Bohatsch.
Fixpunkt waren natürlich auch wieder „Wiener Brut“ auf der idyllischen Waldbühne. Vater und Tochter bringen auf absolut sympatische und lustige Art Alltagssituationen zum Besten.
Another act we didn’t want to miss was “Wiener Brut” at the idyllic forest stage. Father and daughter sang us very funny songs about everyday situations.
An Kulinarik „Mangerlt“ es natürlich auch nicht (Noch so ein seltsames Wort: Mangerl ist ein für Litschau typisches Mohngebäck). Von einer Greißlerei über Käsemacherkäse bis hin zu frisch gebratenen Karpfenfilets findet man hier alles. Und Wein natürlich.
Das Schrammel. Klang. Festival ist jetzt vielleicht nicht der Typ Veranstaltung über den wir normal hier berichten. Aber ab und zu braucht doch jeder einen Ausflug und Ruhe. Hier fühlt man sich auf angenehme Art und Weise in der Zeit zurück versetzt. Oder wie man sich das halt so vorstellt. Ganz ohne Instagram, Pinterest oder Empfang.
Should you ever make it to Litschau (and yes, you really should) do yourself a favour and try their typical poppy seed pastry, the “Mangerl”. And of course at this festival we found lots of other goodies as well, such as local cheese, fresh fish and wine.
The Schrammel. Klang. Festival may not be the kind of event we’d usually write about, but every once in a while everybody needs a bit of peace. If you come here, you will feel like you took a step back in time, in a good way, of course. Or at least the way you would imagine it, without any Instagram, Pinterest or reception …
