Ende April verbrachten wir ein wunderschönes Wochenende in der schwedischen Hauptstadt, Stockholm. Ich konnte mir eigentlich nicht viel darunter vorstellen und wusste nicht, was uns erwarten wird. Eines vorweg: Wir waren begeistert, vor allem von der tollen Stimmung der Stadt. Die Menschen sind total locker, offen und freundlich.
In late April we spent a beautiful weekend in the Swedish capital, Stockholm. I didn’t really have a plan and we didn’t know what to expect. One thing I’d like to say right away, we were blown away, especially beacause of the lovely feeling in the city. The people are laid back, forthright and friendly.
Unser Flug ging ganz zeitig in der Früh, so kamen wir schon um 10 Uhr vormittags in unserem Hotel in Södermalm an. Unser erster Weg führte uns nach einer kleinen Kaffeepause in der Götgatan natürlich gleich in die Altstadt, Gamla Stan. Die kleinen Gassen sind wirklich entzückend und wir fanden sehr viele wunderschöne Geschäfte dort.
Our flight left early in the morning, which meant that we would arrive at our hotel in Södermalm at around 10 A.M. Our first destination, after a quick little coffee break, was the city center, Gamla Stan. The little alleys were lovely and we found many beautiful stores there.
Dann führte unser Weg weiter Richtung Königsschloss, sogar die Wachablöse sahen wir.
We continued towards the royal castle, we even saw the changing of the guard.
Bei dem Schloss fanden wir zufällig das Mittelaltermuseum. Bei freiem Eintritt eröffnet sich einem dort eine wahrlich faszinierende Welt.
By the castle we found the medieval museum, completely by accident. The admission’s free and as you walk inside you enter a truly fascinating world.
Ein absolutes Must-See in Stockholm ist das Vasa Museum. Ich kann Euch sagen, das ist vielleicht beeindruckend. Man kann sich die Größe des riesigen Kriegsschiffes nicht mal ansatzweise vorstellen, wenn man es nicht gesehen hat. Das Schiff wurde 1628 gebaut und sank bei seiner ersten Ausfahrt.
An absolute must-see in Stockholm is the Vasa museum. Let me tell you, this thing is amazing. You can’t even begin to imagine the size of this gigantic battleship, you have to actually be there to appreciate it. The ship was built in 1628 and sank on its maiden voyage.
Nach 333 Jahren am Meeresgrund wurde es geborgen und rekonstruiert. Es besteht heute aus 98% Originalteilen. Wahnsinn, oder? Auf 5 Etagen des Museums kann man in eine beeindruckende Welt eintauchen und das wuchtige Schiff von außen besichtigen.
It was salvaged after 333 years on the bottom of the sea and reconstructed. Today it’s made up of 98% original parts. Insane, right? The museum has five floors which allow you to dive into the history of this massive ship and check it out from all sides and angles.
Danach ging es für uns zu einer deftigen Mahlzeit ins Hard Rock Café. Nach einem langen Spaziergang zum Hotel fielen wir müde, aber glücklich in unsere Betten.
After that we headed to Hard Rock Café for a hearty meal. After a long walk back to the hotel we fell into our beds, exhausted, but happy.
Am nächsten Tag buchten wir eine Schiffsfahrt durch den Schärengarten von Stockholm. In meinem Outfit-Post Nordischer Marine-Look habe ich Euch schon ein paar Impressionen davon gezeigt.
On the next day we went on a boat ride to the Archipelago of Stockholm. I already showed you a few impressions of that in my outfit post Nordic marine-look.
Nach der wunderschönen Bootstour ging es für uns wieder nach Södermalm zum Vintage-Shopping. In der Bondegatan finden sich ein paar wunderbare Läden, vor allem in Lisa Larssons Second Hand Shop schlug mein Herz höher. Ich habe dort ein paar wunderschöne Teile ergattert und freue mich schon darauf, sie Euch zu zeigen.
After the wonderful boat ride we went back to Södermalm to do some vintage shopping. There are a couple of lovely little stores at Bondegatan, especially Lisa Larssons Second Hand Shop, which really got me going. I bought a few amazing pieces there and I’m looking forward to presenting them to you.
